CEREMONY & RECEPTION DETAILS

We are so excited that you will be there to share this special day with all of us! If you have any questions, reach out to Tien (tien900@yahoo.com) or Ellen (ellen.brodersen@gmail.com).

LOVE, HONOR & RESPECT

Respecting the Venue

Our wedding will take place outdoors, on private property in Weyers Cave, VA. It's absolutely stunning, and we are VERY lucky to be able to use this space! The Weavers have been beyond generous to us, and we want to reciprocate that kindness.

The house on the property will be in use by vendors throughout the day, so we ask that you please refrain from wandering inside for anything other than to use the restroom. You can absolutely sit on the outdoor patio in the back and relax with other guests during the reception!

We kindly request that you treat the grounds with the utmost respect. How you treat the property reflects back on us.

Honoring Our Vendors

A team of dedicated vendors has been tirelessly working to make our day special, and each professional plays a crucial role. We ask that you extend your courtesy to them by not interrupting or bothering them, treating them with respect, and adhering to any instructions and requests they might have.

Capturing Moments

We appreciate that many of you might want capture and share the moments of our wedding day! (In fact, if you do take any photos or video, we would LOVE if you would share them with us.)

However, we kindly request that you remain mindful of the professional photographers and videographers who are working hard to capture the essence of the day, so that you don't have to!

It can be very easy to forget this in the moment, and reach up to snap a photo -- one that might just happen to be directly in the way of an image that the photographers and videographers are in the process of capturing. We ask you to please just be aware, and take a look at where the camera crew are before trying to capture something. We appreciate you so much for doing this!

Additionally, we ask that you please put your phone on silent and do not take photos during the ceremony. In this way, everyone is able to be fully present. Don't worry -- we will be sharing all of our photos with you!

You Have Our Gratitude

Your presence is the best present we could ask for. Let's create an atmosphere filled with love, respect, and joy that will be remembered for years to come.

WHAT TO WEAR

Does figuring out what the dress code is, and what to wear to a wedding, confuse you as much as it does us? 😂 Here's a helpful guide that breaks down all of the different dress codes, if you need any guidance.

You are welcome to wear anything in the category of cocktail, dressy casual, or casual. If you love to dress up, please do so and have fun! If you don't want to wear something fancy, wear something comfortable. Your presence means more to us than what you are wearing.

Important: Please wear comfortable shoes. You will be thanking us later. Because the wedding is outdoors, where there are a lot of uneven, grassy sloping areas, you might find yourself sinking into the grass in your heels. Your safety is important to us. In addition, there will be a dance floor and DJ - so if you want to dance, wear shoes that you can dance in.

The weather will likely be relatively warm, but temperatures in October in Virginia can fluctuate, so be sure to bring a warm sweater or jacket for the evening, just in case!

The bride will NOT be wearing white. So if you want to wear whites or your lightest lights, please feel free to do so. 😊

TIMELINE

We recommend timing your trip so that you arrive at the parking area no later than 2:45 pm so that you have adequate time to make your way to the grounds and find a seat.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00 pm, and it takes time to park and walk to the property (you can find detailed directions and instructions on parking here.) You are welcome to arrive as early as 2:00 pm, if you would like. There will be some lawn games, a crossword puzzle, drinks, and chance to mingle beforehand.

OTHER FUN THINGS

DJ & Dance Floor

The bride loves to dance, so there will be lots of great music and a dance floor to get down on! No pressure if this isn't your thing -- there's plenty of space to get away from the dancing and relax and enjoy yourself.

Fire Pits and Lawn Games

After dinner, there will be fire pits and lawn games (weather permitting) that you are welcome to relax at, play, and mingle around, should you be so inclined! Expect cornholebocce ball, and giant jenga.

Video Guestbook

If you haven't determined this already, the bride and groom love documenting things. That's why we will have a video guestbook set up for our special day. It will be available before and after the ceremony, as well as after dinner. We would love it if you would do us the honor of taking a few minutes to record a short video message for the bride and groom, that they will be able to watch and remember for the rest of their lives! (If you are the kind of person that hates talking in front of a camera and doesn't want to do this, don't stress. There will be a paper guestbook available to sign as well.)
